SRINIDHI CHENEGARAPU RAJESHWAR UNDERSTANDING OF DIFFERENT LEARNING THEORIES AND THEIR IMPLICATION AND APPLICATION TO e-LEARNING AND ONLINE LEARNING ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to explain the understanding of different learning theories and their implication and application to e-learning and online learning. These theories are classical conditioning, behaviorist theory, information processing theory or cognitive theory and constructivist theory. The paper focuses mainly on how learners should learn from different learning theories and how technology can be used to leveraged to enhance learning theory and move towards knowledge acquisition in one of the learning theory. INTRODUCTION TO LEARNING THEORIES Learning is defined as a behavior as a consequence of exposure to stimuli. There are four different learning theories namely classical conditioning , behaviorist, informative or cognitive processing and constructivist theory. 1.1 CLASSICAL CONDITIONING THEORY In Classical conditioning theory, Pavlov dog is taken as an example where a scientist named Ivan Pavlov experimented on a dog about its response to a stimuli.
